I made this program to meet a specific need. Sometimes, while programming, I feel like taking a nap without sleeping too long. So I need to set some alarm, like my clock radio. However, setting the clock radio has its disadvantages:
1. I might forget to set the alarm back to my regular morning wakeup time, which has obvious dangers to my employment status.
2. The clock radio is difficult to set.
I tried finding an alarm program for the Mac, most assume you just want to be reminded for some appointment. So they ring once and post a message on screen. I wanted something that would keep on ringing until I woke up. That's where this program comes in.
A few things to take note of:
1. This program beeps once when you set the alarm - this is to confirm the speaker is loud enough.
2. It works with After Dark screensaver, but fails with others like an old version of Fish! which does not give it any CPU to ring the alarm.
Thank you for using my program. Waker is freeware, as long as this documentation remains with it and that the program is not modified in any way.
